What is cultural diffusion?

Answer

It is a process through which culture is spread from one place or group to another. There is a spread of cultural traits within society. With the coming of globalization and modernization, there is advancement in technology which helps spread of culture in form of food, dress, language, education, dance, and other forms. William Ogburn gave the cultural lag theory which explains the development of material culture at a faster rate than nonmaterial culture. These two forms are culture assists the process of diffusion. We see American Food in Japanese Society but Japanese beliefs and ideologies are still the same.
