Association of Sociologists of Kazakhstan

History of Association of Sociologists of Kazakhstan (ASK)

An autonomous professional organization called the Association of Sociologists of Kazakhstan (ASK) debuted in 2002 in Kazakhstan to unite academicians with a socio-economic perspective. ASK was created on May 17–18, 2002, during the First Congress of Kazakh Sociologists, the highest authority within the ASK.

The mission of the Association of Sociologists of Kazakhstan

The Association’s functional purpose is to reveal the country’s sociological understanding of society. The Association is engaged in developing the technique for socio-political research and processes in Kazakhstani society and doing an active scientific study on social issues.

ASK Awards 

Certification for Political Sociologist Award

One of the accolades from the Kazakhstan Sociological Association is the certification for political sociologist award.

ASK Publications and Journals

“Sociological Research,” a monthly magazine of science and society published by the Russian Academy of Sciences, was first published in 1974. The Kazakhstan Sociology Association is a significant contributor to the journal. ASK published special publications in M S Azhenov’s honor.

International outreach of ASK

ASK has been a permanent member of the International Sociological Association since March 2003.

The International Congress of the Association of Sociologists of the Turkic World continues to be affiliated with ASK. Turkey, Azerbaijan, Russia, and Central Asian countries are the major collaborating partners of ASK.

2014 witnessed the organization of the Fifth Congress of Sociologists of Turkic-Speaking Countries with the theme “National Development Strategies of Turkic Countries” in Almaty.
