History of the Syrian Association for the Social Sciences/Syrian Society for the Social Sciences (Syrian SFSS)
The Syrian Association for the Social Sciences is a free-standing, nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing sociology and other social sciences. The organization supports the advancement of knowledge in Syria and other Arab nations. The organization wants to strengthen the fundamentals of intellectual discourse on the pressing issues that Syria and other Arab countries are experiencing. Under the direction of Youssef Brik, Raymond Maalouli, Hossam Al-Saad, Sari Hanafi, Karam Al-Nashar, and Khader Zakaria, the association made its debut in 2016.
The mission of the Syrian Association for the Social Sciences
The goal of society is to strengthen the contribution that diverse social sciences provide to developing public policy in Syria and the wider region.”Complete academic freedom for social researchers” is the society’s motto.
The organization aids in the public transmission of social science information and supports members working in various social science fields in their academic and scientific research.

Qalamoun: The Syrian Journal of Human Sciences Magazine
In association with the Syrian Association for the Social Sciences, the Harmon Center for Contemporary Studies publishes this scholarly magazine quarterly. The publication of social and political research works is associated with the journal. The ethics of scientific study and generally accepted publication citation standards serve as the foundation of Qalamoun.
