Popular Illinois-based nonprofit to host informative training series on racism

Jeremy Allen is a doctoral student in the topic of sociology of race. He taught at Southern Illinois University several topics like introduction to Sociology, Race and Ethnic Relations in the U.S., and Sociology of Deviance. He is an expert in topics like race, research methods, criminology, and stratification.

He, along with Southern Illinois University, presents training on “It’s Not About You: Structural and Systemic Racism” presentation via Zoom from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 4, 2023. Centerstone, which is a non-profit health system, will be hosting this.

It focuses on teaching people how structural racism influences society. It aimed to enlighten people about the concept of racism and how it negatively affects the world at large.

The main objective of the training is- to identify racism and its types, educate regarding how racism is created, focus on the history of racism and current practice of racism, and discussion oriented to the solution.

It is a 1.5-hour training approver for IL LCPC / LPC, IL LCSW / LSW, and IL Nursing (LPN, RN, APN) under IDFPR Professional Counselor CE License No. 197.000263 and IDFPR Nurse CE Sponsor License No. 236.000184.
