Zionism

Zionism

Zionism Definition

Zionism was a political movement advocating for the establishment and sustained support of a national homeland for the Jewish people in Palestine.

Context

This movement emerged as a response to the historical persecution and lack of political autonomy experienced by Jews in various parts of Europe, driven by the aspiration for self-determination and a secure territorial base. The core objective of Zionism was to realise this vision by establishing a sovereign state in the region of Palestine.
