Cyber-ethnography

Cyber-ethnography Definition

Cyber-ethnography describes a research methodology that encompasses two primary applications: first, the examination of the types of interaction and communication occurring between social groups on the Internet; and second, the strategic use of the Internet to access samples of respondents for conducting surveys or interviews, whether these are conducted in real time or virtually.

Scope

This approach bridges traditional ethnographic methods with digital environments, focusing on understanding the cultural dynamics and social interactions that manifest within online communities and digital spaces.
