Black Legend Definition
The term ‘black legend’ refers to a specific historical perspective advanced by Pollack concerning the treatment of children prior to the twentieth century. This view posited that children were treated as young adults rather than being recognised in their status as children. Pollack argued against this conventional understanding, asserting that it did not accurately reflect the actual experience of childhood.
