Client Mode of Production Definition

The client mode of production is a concept employed by Marxists to designate a form of productive capacity that exists independently of the dominant capitalist mode of production. This mode refers to systems or activities outside the main structure of capitalism, which nonetheless play a role in the overall economic landscape. An example of this concept is domestic labour, which functions as a client mode by reproducing and sustaining the labour power required by the workforce within the capitalist system.
